George recently passed his test for his BROWN ADVANCED BELT in Tae Kwon Do. We are so proud of George's progress. Nest text he will try to get a Junior Black Belt! We can't believe how George's coordination has improved and his self-confidence. He continues to do well in the Leadership Class and the Weapon's class. George is very responsible with his skills and never misuses his abilities. George is looking forward to some more sleep-over camps in August.

George just completed the third grade at Moffett Elementary School and will attend Perry Elementary School this fall as a fourth grade student. George had an excellent school year as he continues to make academic and social progress. Even though George loves school, he is looking forward to attending summer camps for the next three months.

George will attend a variety of programs including Big Bear Sports Camp Sports Camp, Surfing Camp, and a week at Sea World Camp where he will learn how to care for marine animals. During the summer George will continue to attend his Tae Kwon Do classes and is slated to test for his Brown Advanced belt in August. In February of this year, George met his personal goal to be able to ride a two-wheel bicycle. Now, in his free time, he is learning how to follow safety rules and ride his bicycle to the beach. George is really growing up and we are very proud of all of his accomplishments.

I Like To Ride My Bike
Jordan, Saul, George
& Dave Nachmanoff
May 30, 2005

Chorus:
I like to ride my bike
It’s my favorite thing to do
I like to ride my bike
Because it’s almost new

Grandpa Jim fixed up my bike, he added training wheels
He taught me how to ride and not fall down
He told me keep on pedaling, and then I would be fine
And now I love to ride all over town

(Repeat Chorus)

I got a kickstand for my bike, a lock, and water-bottle
I also got a helmet and a light
I ride my bike out to the park, almost every day
But I always come back home before it’s night

(Repeat Chorus)

Bridge:
I like to skid out on my bike
Though Grandpa Jim says “no”
I leave my bike out front
Though that’s not where it’s supposed to go

(Repeat Chorus)

George (10) is such a "California Beach Boy" that we can hardly believe that he joined our family from Romania just less than two years. George is enjoying his summer. He has attended a number of residential and day camps including his favorite day camp, Camp James. George is looking forward to one last sleepover camp before the beginning of school, Soccer Camp. George is starting to develop and interest in sports.
continues to advance in Tae Kwon Do and is currently a Blue Belt. George is also a member of the Golden West Swim club where he hopes to advance to the swim team before the new year.

An old picture from the orphanage.

George will be a third grade student at Moffett Elementary School. Although George has a lot of work to catch-up on, he continues to progress academically with the help of a professional tutor who works with him at home twice a week. George enjoys school and has gained enough written language skills in English to write letters home from camp. We are very pleased with George's motivation to be a good student.
