November 2006
Well its been a long time since we wrote a newsletter.
We have been trying to keep up with the boys pages as
much as possible but completely neglected to keep up
with the family updates! We hope you have enjoyed the
updates on the boys in the mean time!
This year has been a busy one for sure! Jim spent much
of 2006 in the hospital recovering from a very serious
pressure sore. Ann made sure that the boys visited
almost daily and during those visits, Jim spent much of
the time helping the boys with their homework. It was
important for both Jim and the boys to maintain
consistent contact. Everyone is very happy that Jim is
finally home now, just in time for the holidays.
We are all getting ready for the holidays. Thanksgiving
will be our traditional buffet brunch at Mrs. Knott's in
the morning followed by a day at Knott's Berry Farm. We
have spent Thanksgiving at the park for eight years in a
row. It is a wonderful opportunity for our whole family
to get together with our friends and extended family
members. Traditionally, we have several of the boy's
biological family members, former foster parents, social
workers, teachers, and family helpers attend. This
makes for a very large party of generally over 100
people! The boys look forward to this event.
Throughout the year, we spend a lot of time practicing
eating buffet style at our local Soup Plantation! By
the time Thanksgiving comes around, most of the boys are
experts at the buffet line!
The boys are looking forward to Christmas as usual. The
older boys are having a blast decorating the house..
Nikolai, Phillip, Ivan and Michael have spent days
putting up Christmas lights outside the house. With all
of the lights, the astronauts will defiantly be able to
see our house from space!
We are also very excited to announce that, baring any
unforeseen delays, we will be finalizing Marc's adoption
in January 2007 and Max's adoption in February 2007.
Michael and James' adoption should also be finalized in
the beginning of 2007. We also hope to have our
son Alexander home permanently before the new year. Due
to court orders of confidentiality, we will not be able
to have Max or Alexander's pages back on the site until
their adoptions are finalized.
We also getting close to releasing our second CD, "Team
Silcock." We had hoped to complete everything before
the holidays but we were overwhelmed with Jim's
hospitalization, Justin's kidney transplant, and most
recently our consumer, Jose's, unexpected stay in ICU.
We will get back to this project after the new year and
possibly see a release date of April 2007. By the way
on this CD the kids not only wrote all of the songs, but
also sang and played instruments on a few. There are
some sample songs on the web site. The latest songs
are very cool!
More in 2007!
Ann
