Never A Dull Moment...

March 30, 2009
We were notified by the City of Huntington Beach that according to their records we "are among the top 500 residential water consumers in the City of Huntington Beach."  I always liked being at the top of my class! The city then offered us "a free water conservation survey to identify ways to save water, energy, and money!"  I left a phone message to let the city's Water Conservation Specialist know that we take 40 plus showers a day, wash upwards of 50 loads a laundry a day, run the dishwasher at least two times per meal, and mop the floors six-eight times a day.  I did not leave a message about the size of our family.  I thought I would handle that information in person!  I am looking forward to the suggestions that Water Conservation Specialist might have to save us money!

Well it looks like one of the kids got a hold of the pool remote.  When the kids started getting in to the pool and complaining about the water burning their feet, Aaron, our family helper and "pool guy" went to investigate.  Aaron quickly discovered that the pool was heated to 104 o F, yes the pool and not the jacuzzi!

We don't know how long the pool has been this hot since we have taken a few days off from swimming due to the rain. The pull pumps are behind lock and key so the only way this could happen is through the pool equipment remote. We try to keep this remote out of little hands but...you know how that goes   I just can't wait to get the next gas bill.  Ughhh!

Andrew has been a very good helper especially when it comes to shredding papers for us.  With the brand new SUPER SHREDDER I received for Christmas, Andrew has been very enthusiastic to shred.  We have had to stop him several times from shredding the mail before we read it!  Tonight, Andrew's enthusiasm went a little too far when he shredded an envelop containing $730!!  Yes, Andrew mistakenly thought an envelop on my desk was supposed to be shredded!  We spent hours trying to put the seven hundred dollar bills and the three ten dollar bills back together.
