Yanny
Yanny is a very special 7 -year- old Latino
boy who needs a patient, committed, and
loving adoptive family. Yanny was born with
a rare metabolic disorder, Lesch-Nyhan
Syndrome (LNS). He is also diagnosed with
Cerebral Palsy-mixed type and Static
encophalopathy with profound motor and
cognitive delays.
Yanny requires very close supervision to
monitor any self-injurious behaviors and
keep him safe, and he is doing very well
overall given his special needs. Soft
restraints are utilized to help Yanny with
his involuntary motor movements. Yanny
enjoys school and relates well to his peers.
He is cheerful, alert, and responsive to
others. He likes coloring, and he likes to
be taken outside in his wheelchair, and
enjoys going to the playground.
Yanny receives Regional Center services and
is followed by a psychiatrist, neurologist,
and geneticist due to his special needs. He
is able to gesture to communicate some of
his needs. Yanny needs a dedicated adoptive
family who can continue to provide him with
the services that he requires.
